Homemade Hummus

There are several types of hummus from traditional hummus to avocado, beet and other types of hummus.

My favorite is avocado hummus with chick peas, avocado, garlic, olive oil, coriander and lemon...topped with parsley. Red pepper flakes and tahini if I'm feeling a little spicy.👌👑

As I broke my fast on a delayed flight yesterday, I thought of what I would have for Iftar (breaking my fast) tonight. This will definitely be part of the spread along with dates and fruit.

It's really simple to prepare.

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups garbanzo beans
1 large ripe avocado
2 cloves garlic
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Juice of 1 whole lemon

1/2 teaspoon coriander

Directions:

Place all ingredients in food processor, blend until smooth and creamy.

Serve topped with fresh parsley.

It's fun and you can add this smooth, creamy, delicious hummus as a option at home or as a potluck item for iftar at a friend's. 🥣
